Case Study: Raise a glass to Fair Maintainable Trade
Roger Hannah & Co were instructed on behalf of the occupier of a Wine Bar and Premises located in Whitefield, Manchester to appeal their Business Rates assessment following a steep increase in Rateable Value in the 2010 Rating List.
Wine Bars are generally valued on a Fair Maintainable Trade which takes into consideration publican trading figures as at the valuation date, with further valuation adjustments to take into consideration factors relating to establishment, location and specification etc.
We were successful in reducing the Rateable Value of the premises by £15,000 over the 2010 Rating List.
