Sale of Heatons Reform Club

The historic Heaton Chapel Reform Club in Heaton Moor, Stockport has been sold for in excess of half a million pounds by Roger Hannah & Co.

In a private sale agreed shortly before it was due to go to auction, the building was sold for £535,000, representing nearly £100,000 over the auction guide price. The 12,500 sq ft listed building has been a landmark on Heaton Moor Road for more than 100 years, but a combination of falling membership and rising maintenance costs forced the Reform Club trustees to instruct Roger Hannah & Co to find a suitable purchaser. The new owner, a local builder and property developer, has yet to announce exact plans for the building.
